LPET OTech

This is the official website of the LPET OTech project designed for innovation in medical physics imaging. The main goals of our project are the completion of the new imaging system, including the optimised design as well as the first demonstration of a LiquidO-based technology – thus tagged OTech – novel PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanner.

The LPET system is designed to open a potential novel paradigm and framework for PET scanners using liquid scintillators via the possible detection advantages of the LiquidO for the first time. Its performance and possible features are under demonstration and quantification for PET imaging. Indeed, this is the expected outcome of the overall project funded by the Agence de la Recherche National (ANR) based in France. The ANR-21-CE19-0036 project is called “PET-OTech“, a more natural naming in French.

Our LPET OTech project is led by a homonymous consortium consisting of 5 national institutions in France between CNRS/IN2P3 and INSERM national institutes. Our team is led by the pioneering members of the LiquidO detection technology.
